| LibraryThing will donate 2 scanners to the project, and we will purchase 8 more scanners at $15 each plus $2 shipping. We will share the scanners for the cataloging process, and book entries will be made by hand. Afterwards, one scanner will stay with the church, and the rest will stay at the school's service-learning office for future cataloging projects with this church or others in the area. Computers donated by church members and students (or checked out from the college tech center) will be used during the cataloging process. Matching funds are from 6 hours of our professor's time. |
Remember, your service-learning project must meet these parameters:
- Each student organization or class must be partnered with at least one clearly-identified community partner and must have one faculty sponsor at its institution designated to supervise the project and provide guidance for reflection.
- Your service-learning project should involve at least 5 service-learning students per $200 requested, not including match (or 13 service-learning students per every $500, 50 per every $2000, etc). Projects that do not meet this standard risk being only partially funded.
- Your project describes the use of the required project group in the Students Beyond Boundaries community.
- If electronic/computer equipment is to be purchased, a justification is made for including the equipment described, and it is clear what will happen to it at the end of the project.
