This trip was exactly what I needed going into Spring Break. I needed inspiration; my path as an Education major has been a rocky one thus far, but during the GMYH trip I really found issues to advocate for through my profession as a teacher. I think it is amazing what we can do as individuals to promote social justice in our communities, and on a state, national, and global level.

I am currently doing service work at MENA (Middle Eastern North African) Hope through the Good Neighbor Community Center. On Thursday, we participated in Street Sense. When I found out we would be wearing the same vests the homeless vendors wear and standing on the street corners yelling at innocent passerbys, I was really nervous. Actually, I was embarassed to do it. I knew I wasn't homeless and I didn't want others to think I was.
